What is your favourite thing about Liverpool?
Liverpool is a friendly city - people are always happy to have a conversation.
I love the parks and green spaces - Calderstones and Sefton Park are really good places to spend an afternoon, as is the River Mersey – it has a long promenade, perfect for a run or cycle along the river, whilst taking in the skyline and Liverpool’s architecture.
Where would you recommend people visit?
Crosby beach- a big beach to get some fresh air, it is also worth seeing the Antony Gormley statues. I’d also recommend visiting the Albert Docks – the area is packed with museums, good food choices, history, and of course good for shopping!
What is the food scene like?
There is lots of variety, with some great places to eat. I really like Mowgli – tasty Indian street food, along with several good steak restaurants. Plenty of good Chinese food - Liverpool actually has one of the oldest China Towns in Europe! Allerton Road has lots of nice restaurants. My favourite restaurant is called Cucina Di Vincenzo (Italian), it is a hidden gem in South Liverpool.
Any interesting facts or history?
It has to be a football fact! – Liverpool has 2 Premier League football teams – Everton and Liverpool FC. Everton was the first team to show a game on television! (1936 against Arsenal).
